Using Sagan’s idea of demotions as an excuse

Sagan sspoke of the numerous demotions that humans have been facing, as we continue to learn more about how the world works and how little we know about it — and how powerless we are over it.

That I think makes for a great source of excuses. I bet you can figure out a way to tell an ‘AI’ chat agent to generate you one, should you need it in any situation. All you need to understand is the general ~grammar of it.

First, a few examples.

• I’m not addicted to masturbation. I’m powerless over my biological evolutionary history. You see, fresh sperm have a better chance of fertilizing the ovum. One can only deduce that our ancestors were the ones who masturbated more. Since their masturbation-phobic peers fertilized fewer and fewer ova with each passing generation.
• How can you blame my smoking, when you know that people with South Asian ancestry have a higher likelihood to have cardiomyopathies?
